Much to the surprise of the visitors from the Salvation Army and Great Houghton Methodist Church last night, we had two birthdays to celebrate in our own unique Goldthorpe style! (Garry called it ‘ritual humiliation’, but I steadfastly refuse to believe that is what we are doing: celebration and singing couldn’t possibly be termed that, could they?!)
