This morning, J-P spoke about the need for rest and re-setting in God. Computers have greatly advanced in memory capacity since they were first invented, but sometimes it feels like we keep pushing ourselves until the point of no return. This is not how God wants us to live. He wants us to live with our focus on Him; when things become too much for us, it is often because our focus has shifted away from Him.

In Matt 11:28-30, we see that truths may be hidden from some but can be revealed to those who simply come to Jesus; there is no special category except wanting to learn from Him. Those who are burdened and weary can find rest in Him. He understands our needs and has promised to carry us through. We may well need more than a ‘power nap’; we need deep rest. As we trust and put our hope in Him, He gives us the strength to rise (Is 40:31); He also helps to guard our hearts and minds with His peace as we take that first step of rejoicing and trusting in Him.
