I believe that faith and actions work together. Faith is trust in God, an understanding that we need Him for life to be complete, but our faith is then worked out in everyday living through our actions. (James 2:20, Eph 2:8-10)
I’m really excited to be involved in a public baptism and family fun day event at Manvers Lake on Sunday 12 July between 1 and 5 p.m. Our church won’t be meeting in Goldthorpe on that day, but will be joining a whole host of other churches at Manvers Lake to celebrate what God has done in people’s lives as they are baptised in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in obedience to Jesus’s command. There will be a barbecue, children’s crafts, free face painting and sports to do whilst listening to people talk about what God has done for them and worship God together.

To prepare for this, we are involved in two main things: prayer and witness. Prayer means we ask God to do what only He can – to save people, to bless people, to open the eyes of people to His reality and love. But our witness means we talk about what He has done, and, in our case, we also let people know by posting flyers through doors in our local area so that they can have the opportunity to come along to our events and services and find out for themselves that God is good.
Here are the dates of what we are doing if you want to join us:
1. Prayer meeting at the Boathouse at Manvers Lake on Friday 3 July between 8 p.m. and midnight, including walking around the lake at 9 .m.
2. Prayer meeting at Father’s House Church in Wath on Wednesday 8 July between 7 and 9 p.m.

3. Leaflet distribution around Goldthorpe on Saturday 4 July between 10 and 11 a.m.

If you would like to take some flyers to post in your immediate area, we can reach even more people!
Hope to see you on one or more of these dates.
