The first ‘Churches Together’ Summer Fun day was held at Goldthorpe Railway Embankment and the Salvation Army on Wednesday 22 July and was attended by 143 people. The theme was ‘Wise Words’, and we looked at many verses in the Bible that encourage us to be thoughtful, considerate and kind in how we speak. Activities included a ‘Wise Words Trail’, crafts such as decorating biscuits and designing posters as well as decorating wood slices to form kind words. Our thanks to Nikki from JJ’s Chippy for providing lunch for us and for Lesley from Gone Wild Forest School, who worked with us on this occasion.
